Parallel Government and you!
Ngee says… understanding the parallel government and how it affects you can make all the difference in this season of uncertainties.
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary – Government is simply a particular system used for controlling a country, state, person etc.
Today I want us to look at the parallel (very similar and often happening at the same time) governments we belong to and how it affects our daily lives and outcome.
Just like a case in court can be taken to a higher court for appeal and change of rule. So it is with our parallel government.
Let us take a look at this case study to understand the parallel governments in your life:
Lagos is at lockdown now because of covid-19. Many are scared and shaken because of the amount of information being sent out. This Lagos covid-19 lockdown is a fact; but to understand how to survive in this season you must activate the parallel government and for me that is my Christian faith.
My Christian faith is a government that reminds of my inheritance and salvation truth- healing, provision and protection is possible even in this time! So, to come out victorious in this season we must understand the parallel governments we belong to and the benefits they both bring.
Rich says…The parallel government is the kingdom of God. Here God has made adequate provisions for your security, health and prosperity not just for now but your future and also for your lifetime on earth. We must choose to believe, trust and obey his kingdom principles so we can enjoy its benefits. Remember our choice has consequences and affects not only us but our generations. Philippians 4:19, Deuteronomy 30:19. |
Being a marriage counsellor, i will end with this case scenario to help us understand how to also apply this parallel government in our marriage. A man has been cheating on the wife continuously. His belief is that the culture/government of the world he belongs to, permits it.
What should the wife do?
She should acknowledge the role (positive or negative) the culture/government of the world is playing in her marriage. But go back and activate the parallel government that overrules all other governments. This Christian government will open up the truth of the word of God. If she meditates on it, she will glean wisdom on actions she can take to change the situation for good. But if she accepts the culture/government of the world as the only government that rules in her marriage, she will not win the fight.
I do not know what you are going through, but i encourage you to activate the parallel government you belong to; so you can live in continuous victory.
