Saturday, the 3rd of December 2022, was simply everything we planned for it to be and much more.
‘𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙎𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎: 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣’ was simply transformational 👌🏼
From the guest speakers; Dr Jane Nwokeji, who spoke on ‘Our Wellbeing, our priority’, to Ufuoma Emerhor-Ashogbon, who took us through her life journey and how her books have become a healing guide for many, and of course our very own Ngee (Ngozi Okonkwo)who capped it off with Self-worth.
𝙆𝙚𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨:
• Your well-being includes physical, social, economic, emotional, and much more. No one will take care of you like you.
…Dr. Jane Nwokeji.
• We are slaves to Christ, choosing obedience above self pleasure. Abuse is a no-no in marriage.
… Ufuoma Emerhor-Ashogbon.
• Self-worth begins with Seeking to find you, listening in love, while lifting others up. Also Learning to Express and Empathize with others and Finishing well by keeping our eyes on the goal for each season. Are you proud of who you are becoming?
… Ngozi (Ngee) Okonkwo.
Many women were given a safe space to share and learn from one another. We also networked, let down our hair, and enjoyed the refreshments and gifts.
Woman and Marriage is an arm of Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative, which tackles the patriarchal and gender issues (SDG 5) in the family system.
It also gives the women a platform to understand their role in building a better society.
